Terms of Use

Last updated: August 5, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Keramoslab (the "Service"), available at keramoslab.com.br and operated by Luiz Marcelo Silva dos Santabaia Martins, an individual micro-entrepreneur registered under Brazilian CNPJ MEI no. 63.421.394 ("we", "our"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

Keramoslab is a platform that uses artificial intelligence to (i) generate original ceramic glaze recipes from inspiration photos, with automatic chemical validation (Seger UMF, Limit Formulas, Stull Chart, Triaxial Blend), and (ii) generate estimated visualizations of how partner manufacturers' glazes (OXID, Cersil and others) may look when applied to ceramic pieces.

The Service's pedagogical curation and the technical review of featured library recipes are carried out in collaboration with ceramicist Prof. Tito Tortori, a Keramoslab partner. Toxicity-report criteria, however, follow standards and technical literature (RDC 42/2013, ASTM C738, IARC — see section 8 and /metodologia-toxicidade), and do not constitute an individual technical opinion.

Results produced by the simulator are estimates and serve solely as a visual sample to guide purchase decisions. AI-generated images are not a guarantee of the final result of the real glaze application, which may vary depending on firing temperature, clay body, application thickness and other factors.

3. Registration and Account

To use the Service beyond the free simulations, you must create an account with your name, email and password. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity carried out under your account.

4. Plans and Payment

The Service offers a free plan with a limited usage quota. For larger quotas and additional features, we offer paid plans billed as recurring monthly subscriptions, processed by our payment provider. Current prices and quotas are always available on the plans page. Subscriptions are recurring and can be canceled at any time through the billing portal.

Upon cancellation, access remains active until the end of the period already paid for. There is no pro-rata refund for partial periods.

4.1. Fair Use and Abuse Protection

Each paid plan includes two combined limits: a monthly quota (renewed on the 1st of each month) and a daily protection quota. The limits in force per plan are always available at /planos.

We reserve the right to apply progressive throttling (artificial latency of 3 to 15 seconds per request) starting at 70% of daily usage, and to temporarily block access to the AI generation feature until the next period in the event of abusive or automated use (use by bots, scripts, or abnormal patterns that indicate attempts to circumvent the limits). These measures exist to ensure the Service's availability for all users and to preserve operating costs.

Heavy AI operations (AI mockups, piece combination, recipe editing via AI chat) share the same protection quota. Recipe generation has its own quota, listed at /planos.

5. Intellectual Property

The glaze and product images shown in the catalog belong to their respective partner manufacturers (OXID, Cersil and others). Images generated by the AI are for the user's personal use as a reference when purchasing glazes. Commercial use of generated images (advertising, resale, etc.) is not authorized without prior consent.

6. User-Submitted Images

By uploading photos of ceramic pieces, you declare that you hold the rights to those images. Photos are processed by the AI and stored temporarily to generate the mockups. We do not use your images for any other purpose.

7. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is". We do not warrant that simulation results will exactly match the real-world result of applying glazes. We are not liable for purchase decisions based solely on the simulator's results.

8. Technical and Safety Notices

This section gathers the technical notices that apply across the Service. Screens display short versions linking here.

8.1. Partner manufacturer protection

Keramoslab does not generate recipes that reproduce commercial glazes from partner manufacturers (OXID, Cersil, Casa do Ceramista and others), out of respect for the intellectual property of each formulation. The generator is for free inspiration only — handmade pieces, antiques, gallery images, your own work. A recipe generated from a commercial-glaze mockup will never reproduce the original product: commercial glazes go through test firings, toxicity and leaching assays and batch-to-batch control that an AI estimate cannot replace. If you want the catalog result, buy the manufacturer's original glaze.

8.2. Reference chemical data

Chemical analyses (Seger UMF, Limit Formulas, oxide ratios, COE) use reference values from the ceramic literature (Digitalfire, Hamer) and theoretical mineral compositions. Every raw-material batch varies between suppliers and regions — confirm the analysis with your supplier before firing at scale. The ranges are a technical second opinion, not a guarantee of purity or performance.

Partner swatch photos were shot on a light stoneware body. The real result depends on the clay you use — translucent glazes may reveal the clay color underneath and significantly change the final tone.

8.4. AI-generated estimates

Recipes, simulations, mockups and clay-body variations are estimates produced by artificial intelligence combined with automatic chemical analysis. They are technically grounded starting points, not guarantees: the real result varies with temperature, atmosphere, clay body, application thickness and kiln position.

8.5. Mandatory bench testing

Every recipe or simulation obtained through the Service requires a test tile fired on clay from the same batch as your body before any application on a final piece — we recommend at least 3 application thicknesses. For food-contact use, a laboratory leaching assay (ASTM C738) is indispensable. Details of our screening method are at /metodologia-toxicidade.

8.6. Artistic interpretation of images

Generated images (piece impression, mockups, side-by-side comparisons) are artistic interpretations produced by AI to guide decisions — they are not photographs of the real result and do not promise fidelity of shape, color or texture. The kiln always has the final word.

9. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Significant changes will be communicated by email to registered users and/or via an in-Service notice requesting acknowledgment on your next visit.
